Upgrading halogen headlights to LED bulbs is one of the most noticeable visibility improvements you can make to a car. This guide explains the two decisions that matter — socket type and brightness — using the AutoYu LED range as the example.
1. Find your socket type first
Every car uses a specific headlight socket such as H1, H3, H4, H7, H8/H11/H16, H27, 9005, 9006 or 9012. The simplest ways to confirm yours: check the marking on your existing bulb, your owner's manual, or ask your service centre. An LED bulb only fits if its fitment matches your socket.
2. Choose the brightness
LED bulb output is measured in lumens. The AutoYu range runs from 15,000 to 32,000 lumens per set — the 320W bulb, at 32,000 lumens, is the highest-lumen headlight bulb AutoYu sells. Higher output improves night visibility; whichever bulb you choose, have the beam aimed correctly after installation so it does not dazzle oncoming traffic.
